Seafood/Steakhouse
If you love seafood, try the Blackened Seafood Lover's with a side of Super Veg Mix at Sunset Grille. It's an 8 min walk away
If you want to try something different, walk on down to Mango Mango's (9 min walk) and give the Cabana Havana Mahi Mahi a try. You won't be disappointed!
For a fun night out, give Salt Life a call and schedule complimentary shuttle service to and from their restaurant in their super fun golf cart (don't forget to tip the driver).
The Conch House Restaurant (9 min drive) is a family favorite! Enjoy relaxed vibes with water views while sitting in a cabana. Kids will love the alligator exhibit (behind glass) in the back! Try their goat cheese & datil jelly dishes (fish or chicken) and Minorcan chowder!
The Tide's Oyster Co & Grill is also a 7 min walk away and is a local favorite.
If you like fried shrimp, then you won't want to miss O'steen's! It's "cash only" and located just before the Bridge of Lions.
Other excellent choices within driving distance include Seafood Kitchen and Salt Water Cowboys down A1A (5 min drive).
Catch 27, Hurricane Patty's, Schooner's and Harry's Seafood all near downtown (w/ in 15 min).
Kingfish Grill, Cap's on the Water, Aunt Kate's and The Reef up in Vilano (25 min). If you're up in the World Golf Village, stop in at St Mary's (30 min).
Pizza
Antonio's NY Style Pizza by the pier (10 min walk/2 min drive) has excellent food! Their gyro sandwiches and cannolis are de-lish!
Pizza Time on St George Street (15 min drive) is somewhat of a local attraction. Rated #2 in the US by TripAdvisor, don't be intimidated by the long lines. They move quickly, but don't forget to bring cash (no credit cards).
St Augie's, Carmelo's and Pizzalley's are the downtown (15 min drive) local favorites !
If you want a place to sit down, Mellow Mushroom is a short 9 min drive away. You'll love their stone-baked pizza.
Call Dominos for quick deliveries. Five Star also delivers to the area.
Mexican
Playa Chacmool - Excellent Authentic Mexican food! Ask the owner, Javier Mestizo, to serenade you with "Malagueña Salerosa". (10 min walk, 3 min drive)
Taco Libre is another authentic restaurant on the island. It's a 5 min drive away. They have another location close to downtown (by SR-16).
Mojo's Tacos and Osprey Tacos - Tacos. Need we say more? They're a short 10 min drive or bike ride, but every bite is worth it.
A1A Burrito Works - fun place for tacos and burritos and a short 8 min walk. We love the UFO (shrimp, black beans and baja style).
If you drive over the 312 bridge (11 min), stop in at Cantina Louie for a fun vibe and great food.
Downtown we recommend Gringos Tacos.
Breakfast
Stop by Cafe Eleven (4 min walk) in the mornings after watching the sunrise on the beach. Try their sunrise sandwich to celebrate the occasion. On weekends they have a breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelettes.
Little Margie's FA Cafe is just down the road and does not disappoint!
Georgie's Diner is also worth a visit (downtown).
The Metro Diner is a local favorite (11 min drive). San Francisco Benedict, Fried Chicken and Waffles, yumm!
Highly Rated/Highly Recommended
Ice Plant - hip, industrial vibe with an excellent menu downtown (13 min drive). Be sure to try their home-made, sugarcane-sweetened colas.
The Floridian - Fresh, Shouthern Comfort food with a fluid menu that changes with the seasons. They use locally grown food and produce to present creative dishes in a casual atmosphere downtown (13 min drive). Closed on Tuesdays.
River & Fort, Casa Reina, Prohibition Kitchen, Columbia & The Press are all excellent choices for incredible food!
Llama Restaurant (10 min drive) may be our favorite dining experience in all of St Augustine. This Peruvian restaurant is true culinary art (reservation required).
Raintree Restaurant - Historical setting with a business casual/semi-formal ambience off San Marcos Ave (13 min drive). The international menu is wide enough to please the pickiest of palates. They're renown for their desert masterpieces beautifully crafted by their pastry chef. The New Zealand Rack of Lamb is to die for!
Ice Cream/Desserts
Just a few blocks away are Cone Heads Ice Cream (cash only) & Mayday Ice Cream where you can indulge in dozens of flavors, dipped cones and other sweets!
Rita's Italian Ice near the pier (10 min walk) has a wide variety of cold sugary goodness!
Downtown you'll find several ice cream and shake parlors including Gelato Time (adjacent to Pizza Time), Mayday Ice Cream, The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops and Cousteau's Waffle and Milkshake Bar.
